The colors, the styles, the appliances; 2017 is promising to be the year of the WOW, with exciting innovations and new twists on the old trends. Function, color and livable luxury are influencing the latest kitchen design. Take a peek at what’s in store:
Black Stainless Steel Appliances
Black stainless is, well… the new black! Quickly emerging as the gold standard in kitchen design, many brands are opting for this attractive, durable and sleek look. Not only does black stainless resist fingerprints better than regular stainless steel, it’s also perfect for mixing and matching décor, and use of colored cabinetry. It is stylized and modern, pairing well with brass and copper accents from high-end brands.
Zephyr’s popular Anzio, Ravenna and Savona models now come in black stainless with a finish that has a built-in layer of protection and anti-smudge coating, for easy cleaning. Solid titanium is transported onto the stainless steel through patented physical vapor deposition (PVD), making it more durable than a traditional coating process. It can stand the harshest cooking conditions, while being a sleek design element, fit for any kitchen.
Finger and Kit Kat Tile
Gone are the days of the subway tile. This year is all about longer, thinner tiles in vertical and horizontal patterns. Out-of-the-box thinking will be all the rage when it comes to creating a flashy backsplash, and tile creativity is limitless.
Seamless Integration
There is great appeal in having appliances incorporated as part of the cabinetry. The clean lines, matching doors and hardware provide an uncluttered look that gives a cozy, relaxing feel. Liebherr’s HCB-2062 model, or its new UPR-503 under counter refrigerator, certainly fits the bill, and is setting the trend of seamless integration. With customization options to match any aesthetic, buyers are only limited by their imagination.
Smart Appliances
Dish washers that can reorder soap, sinks with sensors and remote controlled range hoods with automatic shut-off are no longer the exception, but are the rule in today’s kitchens. We’ll continue to see the latest innovations and technology as part of kitchen design, this year.
Outdoor Kitchens
This is a carryover from 2016, and years past, but is a trend that is holding on! From the thrill of the do everything grill, to designer patio furnishings, to television display units built for the great outdoors, these kitchens focus on creating a fully functional, complete outside living oasis.
